The Creative Community Art Project

A new way to get people thinking differently about stuff, to give materials a second chance at life, but this time around as something different rather than being reused for what they were originally intended. It's an opportunity to think outside the box, and to see what others have done with this opportunity, to see things with different eyes; It's the Creative Community Art Project. We have given artists, and anyone with an interest in it, free range to choose materials from the yard to create a sculpture to adorn the hill above the landfill for all to enjoy.

Home ReSource Doug K. Bell Building's Grand Opening

The official grand opening for Home ReSource's newest addition will be Oct. 4th, 2008. The sculptures created by participants of the Creative Community Art Project will be unveiled and judged at this time. The party starts at 4 pm, with food, drinks, and live entertainment by the local band Beatlekill. Admission is free, however, donations are encouraged.

Home ReSource, Wheels, and Orange Peel are still Giving Bikes Back

There was lots of participation and interest in our Giving Bikes Back program, so we are going to continue it by doing another bike roundup, restoration, and giveaway. First time around Home ReSource was able to refurbish and giveaway 24 bikes with volunteer effort and with the help of Wheels and Orange Peel. The bikes were donated to members of the following organizations: Partners, The Girls and Boys Club of Craig, Perry Mansfield, Lift-Up of Routt county, and other locals in need of bikes who responded to ads for the program. So we are once again looking for donations, volunteers to help fix the bikes we collect between now and then, and people in need of bikes. If you would like to be added to the list of free bike recipients or wish to donate money, or volunteer your time, please email us at staff@salvageit.org  or call Home ReSource at 879-6985 for more information.
